Manaslu Trekking Nepal


Manaslu trekking Nepal:

Manaslu region used to be Nepal’s banned trekking region before 1991; the government announced the region trekable in 1991, whereas it still remains one of the restricted trekking regions. The Manaslu trekking route brings you an incredible exploration of almost virgin region of Nepal. Having situated at the northern border of Nepal with gorkha district as main region from where the trekking is started generally, the trekking offers you spectacular mountain views and an altitude variation from 375 to 5300 mtrs. The diverse ecosystems, ethnic cultures and almost Tibetan trail make the trekking route unlike than any other trekking regions of Nepal.

About the trekking trail, people generally start the trek from Gorkha bazaar whereas; there are possibilities that the trek can be started from Trishuli Bazaar as well. The Manaslu circuit trekking passes through untamed and unexpolored villages remarkably decorated by the Gurungs. The Larkya Pass (5100m) is one of the highest points of the trail which further emerges to the Marshyangdi valley allowing you to follow the Annapurna trekking trail.

Manaslu trekking itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel in Kathmandu. Free evening to shop around in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu. The sightseeing in Kathmandu on this day includes sightseeing in Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square etc. overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Gorkha.  Gorkha is a historical place of Nepal’s is history which leads the history back to the time of unification of Nepal, where King Prithvi Narayan Shah used to reside. The Gorkha Palace is incredibly situated on top of a hill. Trek to Charkot ( 600 mtrs ) to stay overnight from Gorkha ( 1060 mtrs ).

Day 04: Trekking from Charkot to Siangdi Khola. This day, almost a plain trekking to Siangdi Khola. Overnight in Siangdi Khola ( 650 mtrs ).

Day 05: Trekking from Siangdi Khola to Daroundi Khola ( 700 mtrs ). Overnight.

Day 06: Trekking from Daroundi Khola to Barbak. Cross the Duroundi Khola and climb steep up to Barbak. Overnight in Barbak (1090 mtrs )

Day 07: You will be crossing the Kharka Pass (2850 mtrs ) before reaching Gumda on this day. Overnight in Gumda ( 2050 mtrs )

Day 08: Trekking to Jagat. The trail along the budhi Gandaki River continued with a number of waterfalls and forests leads to Jagat. Ovenight in Jagat (1360 mtrs )

Day 09: Trekking from Jagat to Nyak. Walk along the Gurung Villages influenced by Buddhism to Nyak. Overnight in Nyak (2300 mtrs)

Day 10: Trekking from Nyak to Ghap (2380 mtrs ).

Day 11: Trekking from Ghap village to Bengsam. The trail becomes interesting on this day with sounds of birds including the Impeyan Pheasant, you will pass along the Gorge water in which mixes with Budhi Gandaki. Overnight in Bengsam ( 2900 mtrs )

Day 12: Trekking from Bengsam to Sama. You are now entering the Tibetan cultured part of the trail. Overnight in Sama (3360 mtrs ).

Day 13: Trek  to Kermo Samdo. People worn with Tibetan religious clothes, lifestyle of the region, culture makes the trail wonderful. Overnight in Kermo Samdo ( 3780 mtrs )

Day 14: Trekking to Larkya Bazaar. The views are spectacular as you pass through, Chortens, Prayer wheels spot the trail. Stay overnight in Larkya Bazaar ( 4499 mtrs )

Day 15: Trekking to Bamthang through Larkya La pass. This is a tough day, you are climbing the Larkya La pass. The Mani walls mark the trail, after a moraine, the trail is steep upwards till the top of the pass ( 5220 mtrs ). Spectacular views as seen from the top of the pass define the wonders of this day, Hiulung Himal, Gyaji Kung, Kang Guru, Annapurna all are very spectacularly seen on this day. Overnight down at Bamthang ( 3630 mtrs )

Day 16: Trekking from Bamthang to Tilche. You have already entered the  Annapurna region. Cross the Rhodondren forest, views of Lamjung Himal are just spectacular. Overnight in Tilche ( 2640 mtrs )

Day 17:  Trekking from Tilche to Tal. Overnight in Tal ( 1680 mtrs )

Day 18: Trekking to Bahun danda. Follow the pass with Marshyangdi River downwards. Overnight in Bahun danda ( 1260 mtrs ).

Day 19: Trekking to Besi Sahar. Descend down to Besi Sahar ending the trekking part of this trip. Overnight in Besi Sahar ( 760 mtrs ).

Day 20: Drive from Besi Sahar to Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu ( 1350 mtrs).

Day 21: Free day in Kathmandu for shopping, resting.

Day 22: Departure.
