Annapurna Region

 

Annapurna trekking is considered to be Nepal’s most popular trekking route. The trekking route, which is not as hard as Everest trekking region or other strenuous trekking routes of Nepal, is popular for its natural beauties, sceneries, localities, culture and lifestyle of people. It is also one of easily affordable trekking regions.

The majority of part of Annapurna trekking region lies in Annapurna Conservation Area. Annapurna conservation Area was opened in 1968 to save the rare, extinct, endangered wild lives, birds and plant species. Annapurna conservation area protects most of endangered wild-lives and natural resources. Bird species like Impeyan, Pheasant are rare birds, one of the extinct species of the world, which has been conserved by Annapurna Conservation Area. More than a 100 kind of Orchids and Rhododendron plants are conserved in the area of Annapurna Conservation Area. This is the most geographically and culturally diverse protected area anywhere in the world. Gurung, Thakali, Magar and other ethnics are residing in the region from centuries, the culture, religion and lifestyle of which is explore-worth. In Addition, predominant part of the region offers a wide range of mountains including Annapurna1, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Manaslu and many other 8000 mtr. Mountains. Kaligandaki valley, world’s deepest gorge lies in the Annapurna region.

Namely, the Annapurna region has many trekking routes; Ghorepani trekking, Annapurna circuit trekking, Annapurna base camp trekking, Siklish trekking, Jomsom Muktinath trekking etc. As Nepal’s northern border is connected to the Tibetan Arid landscapes, it is obvious that the northern part of Annapurna region is drier in comparison to the southern parts. Visiting in Annapurna region is best practicable in spring and autumn as at this time of year, the Rhododendron forests start blooming at their best and weather is cleared soon after monsoon. Hence the Himalayan view in addition to the colored hills certainly blows a visitors mind to a different world. Many lodges, Tea houses and guest houses offer a level of accommodation service in this region to make the holiday of visitor the most wonderful.
