Annapurna base camp trekking

This is one of the most beautiful treks of the world. A rewarding trek, that brings recreational refreshment to the visitors with majestic sceneries, decorated villages, mountain views, beautiful landscapes and climatic variances. Also known as Annapurna Sanctuary trekking, the destination of the trek is base camp of Annapurna (4200 mtrs.), popularly visited by a number of tourists every year.

Annapurna Base Camp trekking itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel in Kathmandu. The evening is generally allowed free to shop around near the hotel. Overnight in hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: This day in Kathmandu is kept free to set your trek preparation; optionally you may be interested to see major sights in Kathmandu. Free evening, overnight in hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The day drive to Pokhara passing along the Trishuli and Marshyangdi River is spectacular with wonderful views of the riverside, hills, water springs, small villages and on clear weather the mountain views of Ganesh Himal and Annapurnas. Overnight in Pokhara, in the evening you may be interested in visiting around the Lakeside with blinking lightening of Pokhara in Lake Phewa.

Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Birethanti, trek to Tirkhedhunga. This day’s drive with the trek is shorter passing through some bamboo forests. Overnight in Tirkhedhunga (1540 mtrs.).

Day 05: The day starts with steep walk down to the Bhurungdi Khola. The other part of the trail leads climbing the stairs, this climb of one of toughest of this trek. Continue trek to Ghorepani while exploring the beauties of Annapurna and Hiuchuli Mountain. Ghorepani is a Gurung village famous for its ethinicity which is a mixed combination of Gurung and Magars. After around 6 hours trek, overnight in Ghorepani (2987 mtrs.).

Day 06: Early morning of the day starts with a short trek to the poonhill. Poonhill is a hillstop near Ghorepani Mountain to see the mountain views and the sunrise view from here is one of the best of the world. The incredible orange color paint by the sunrise on the mountains which is seen just in front of you at the very early rise is just magnificent. After breakfast, continue trekking to Tadapani, another Gurung village of the region. You will be trekking around 7 hours before reaching for an overnight stay at Tadapani (2590 mtrs.).

Day 07: Trekking from Tadapani to Chhomrong. On this day, cross the Modi Khola down with spectacular lsndscape views after crossing the famous gurung village of Ghandruk to reach Chhomrong. Chhomrong village is one of highest altitude village of the region. Overnight in Chhomrong village (1951 mtrs.).

Day 08: Trek to Himalaya Hotel on this day. First part of the day’s trek descends down to Chhomrong khola, the name of Chhomrong village is kept after Chhomrong Khola. After the bridge the way again ascends to Himlaya Hotel through the forests of Bamboo and Oak. Overnight in Hotel Himalaya after a long walk of 7 hours (2920 mtrs.).

Day 09: Trekking to Annapurna Base camp on this day, the destination of the trek. Climbing the ascending way upto the Annapurna base camp after crossing the Machhapuchre base camp brings you the views of Annapurna I, III, Machhapuchre, Barha Sikhar and plenty of other mountains and snow peaks. You may also encounter the Himalayan animals like Tahr, Weasels, Pica and a number of bird species. Overnight in Annapurna Base camp (4200 mtrs.).

Day 10: Rest day in Annapurna Base camp. Whole day excursion around the places.

Day 11: Trekking from Annapurna Base Camp to Dobhan. Retracing back the way, arrive Dobhan for a overnight stay (2520 mtrs.).

Day 12: Trek back to Chhomrong, following the same way back, stay back in Chhomrong.

Day 13: Trek to Dhampus village. This is the last day of trekking portion. Overnight stay in Dhampus village (1650 mtrs.).

Day 14: Drive back to Pokhara from Dhampus village. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 15: Whole day sightseeing in Pokhara. The sightseeing here in Pokhara on this day includes boating in Phewa Lake, visit the world peace stupa, visit the davi’s falls etc. overnight in Pokhara with free evening around lakeside shopping around the ornaments, goods, clothes etc.

Day 16: Drive back to Kahtmandu. Retrace the way back to Kahtmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 17: Fee day in Kathmandu to rest, shop.

Day 18: Free morning, depending upon the flight time drive to the airport. Final departure.
